Epic Oscar Speed Drawing Videos – 86th Academy Awards

Speed Drawing

Celebrate the 2014 Academy Awards season with Movieclips and SpeedDrawManiac with this series of fan posters.

The Wolf Of Wall Street Fan Poster

The Wolf Of Wall Street Illustration

The Wolf of Wall Street, Martin Scorsese’s insane drug fueled journey through the career of a an unhinged wall street banker and his sociopathic cohorts was in our opinion one of the best films of the year. A lot of fan posters out there for this one, and with this poster we went for an angle that a lot of people have taken with fan art for this film. Money’s the most important thing in Jordan Belfort’s universe, so why not incorporate it into the poster?

Captain Phillips Fan Poster

Captain Phillips was a hard one, but in the end we decided to go with something quiet and removed (sort of the opposite of a movie that’s so cramped and intimate) but with a quiet menace.

Her Fan Poster

HER Fan Poster

Her. How great was this movie? We were kinda lost on this one, the poster of Joaquin Phoenix is so perfect there’s not much more to do….

American Hustle Fan Poster

AMERICAN HUSTLE

American Hustle is one of the more fun nominations for best picture this year, it’s certainly director David O. Russell’s riff on Martin Scorsese’s crime pictures, as well as heist movies( the Ocean’s movies, Snatch, etc.). All in all it’s pretty darn entertaining.

With the poster we incorporated the painting that Christian Bale’s Irving Rosenfeld uses to educate Bradley Cooper’s Richie DiMaso about the nature of conning (it’s Rembrandt’s “Saint Bartholomew, it’s in the Worcester Art Museum, and yeah, it’s real), as well as what we felt was the heart of the movie: People believe what they want to believe.
